Former President Obasanjo Visits Shehu of Borno to Commiserate Over Maiduguri Flood Disaster

His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Umar Garbai Ibn El-Kenemi (CFRFNSE) on Saturday.

The visit was aimed at expressing his condolences and solidarity in the wake of the recent devastating flood that affected Maiduguri.

During the visit, Obasanjo expressed his deep sympathy for the losses incurred due to the flood, which claimed several lives and destroyed properties in the city.

He emphasized the importance of community support and the need for continued efforts to rebuild and assist those affected by the disaster.

In response, the Shehu of Borno warmly welcomed the former President and thanked him for his thoughtful visit.

The Royal Father expressed gratitude for Obasanjo’s concern and commiseration, praying to Almighty Allah for the former President’s safe return and protection.

The flood in Maiduguri caused widespread destruction, leaving many families grieving for lost loved ones and struggling with the damage to homes and infrastructure.

The visit by the former President was seen as a gesture of national unity and compassion during a challenging time for the people of Borno State.
