Former MTN Group CEO Dies Of Cancer 

Sifiso Dabengwa, the former CEO of MTN Group, has passed away following a battle with cancer.
 Dabengwa, who led the telecoms giant from March 2011 until 2015, was instrumental in guiding the company during a critical period in its history.
His tenure as CEO ended amid MTN’s efforts to navigate a ₦1.04 trillion fine imposed by Nigerian authorities.
Before his role as the Group CEO, Dabengwa also served briefly as the CEO of MTN Nigeria, concluding his tenure there in 2006.
His death was confirmed by family spokesperson Themba Sibanyoni and a senior executive at MTN, both of whom expressed deep sorrow over his passing.
Dabengwa was widely respected for his visionary leadership and his commitment to leveraging technology for transformative change.
 His contributions to the telecommunications industry, particularly in Africa, are celebrated by many who knew and worked with him.
The MTN community is in mourning, reflecting on Dabengwa’s impact on the company and the industry as a whole.
His legacy as a dedicated leader and advocate for education and innovation in technology continues to resonate.
