Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed as the new Technical Director of Turkish side Besiktas, the club has confirmed.

Following his appointment, the club announced that the Norwegian had arrived in Turkey to take up his role as their new Technical Director:

“Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with whom we have started negotiations for the position of Technical Director of our Football A-Team, has arrived in Istanbul.”

Speaking to the press upon his arrival at the airport, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said:

“I’m very pleased to be here. It’s great to see so many people supporting this great club. We’ve had our first meetings, and I’m looking forward to getting started. It’s wonderful to be in this amazing city.”

The former Manchester United player managed the Red Devils from 2018 to 2021 when he was dismissed following a poor run of results after three years at the helm. Ole has not managed any club since he departed from Manchester United in 2021
