In a tragic turn of events, Francisca Owumi, a former contestant on Big Brother Naija, has sadly passed away.
Francisca was the first runner-up in the very first season of Big Brother Nigeria in 2006. She was part of the same group as the current host of the show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu. Her family announced her passing on social media on August 29, 2024, after she suffered from a brief illness.
Francisca died shortly after celebrating her 40th birthday. According to her family, she had been battling a “trio of ailments,” which ultimately led to her untimely death.
During her time on Big Brother Naija, Francisca was known for her lively and energetic dance moves, making her a memorable part of the show. She competed alongside other well-known contestants like Katung Aduwak, who won the season, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, Maureen Osuji, Ify Ejikeme, and the late Joseph Ada.
After her appearance on Big Brother Naija, Francisca briefly pursued a career in music. She released two singles titled “Gbadun You” and “Diva,” showcasing her versatility and passion for the arts.
Francisca’s death is a great loss, and she will be remembered fondly by her fans and everyone who knew her.
