Flooding in Delta will be a thing of the past – Jamani boasts 

The Delta State Government has reiterated its commitments to deplore all proactive measures to holistically address and Mitigate flood related issues in the State. 

The State Commissioner for Environment, Mr Jamani Tommy Ejiro stated this when he paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to Sajere community in Sapele Local Government Area, to assess the reported flooding situation causing distress to the residents of the community.

Mr. Jamami stated that his visit is a part of deliberate proactive approach to addressing the challenges posed by flooding, particularly in vulnerable areas like Sajere and many other communities, adding that his on-the-spot assessment of the situation has afforded him the opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the extent of the flooding, its impact on the affected area, and the possible short-term and long-term solutions.

While sympathising with the people of the community over the damage done to them by the flooding, he urged them to remain calm as the capacity governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE AGENDA is strategically design to bring absolute peace and prosperity to Delta State and there can be no better prosperity than addressing any challenges that threatens the lives and properties of all residents in the State. He assured that proper measures will be put in place quickly to channel the flood out of the community to finally address the problem of flooding ravaging the community.

Mr Jamani also used the opportunity to thanked the people for their support to the PDP led Govt in Delta State adding that he will do everything possible to ensure the issue of flooding become a thing of the past.
