Gombe state Emergency Management Agency (GSEMA) has confirmed the death of two persons at Kumo local government area of the state as a result of heavy flooding in the area.
Speaking to Journalists in Gombe yesterday, the Acting Head of Resource and Rehabilitation, Mr. Mohammed Garba, said the incident which affected both residential and comercial areas occured on Tuesday leading to the death of the two persons, and affected not less than 150 houses within the town.
He said the assessment made by the State Emergency Management Agency, revealed that, no house or building was completely damaged, but that items such as food, electronics, furniture, and livestock were destroyed by the flood.
According to him, the agency has since forwarded its reports on the incident to the state government and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for their attention.
