Fix Your Failing Government, Not the Opposition– ADC Slams Tinubu

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has hit back at President Bola Tinubu over fresh criticism of the opposition coalition, accusing him of weaponizing distractions to cover up a failing government.

Speaking in response to comments made by the president at the 14th APC meeting on Thursday, the ADC described Tinubu’s constant attacks on opposition parties as “a desperate move by a man overwhelmed by chaos in his own camp.”

“Instead of addressing the broken economy and the visible rift with his Vice President, Tinubu is busy poking his nose into the affairs of the ADC,” the statement read.

The ADC alleged that the presidency is actively sponsoring crises within opposition parties, using public funds to foment internal divisions in a bid to weaken alternative political forces.

“The so-called rift between Atiku and Obi supporters was a ploy from the presidency, but their games have failed. The cracks have been sealed. The Coalition is united and stronger,” the statement asserted.

Slamming the Tinubu administration as “directionless, incompetent, and disconnected from Nigerians,” the party accused the president of abandoning governance to focus on an early re-election campaign despite delivering little since 2023.

“While citizens are tormented by hunger, poverty, and rising insecurity across Benue, Plateau, Zamfara, and other states, Tinubu is fixated on silencing opposition voices,” the ADC claimed.

The party further alleged misuse of anti-corruption agencies to blackmail critics and force defections to the APC.
