Fire Outbreak Destroys Property at Girls’ Secondary School in Kano

A fire outbreak has razed parts of Government Girls Junior and Senior Secondary School (GGJASS), Kaleku, in Damagari town, Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State, destroying learning materials, chairs and important documents.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

According to reports obtained by The News Chronicle, the fire started as a result of refuse burning behind the school premises, which later spread into several classrooms.
