Finding Messiah: Oscar Heman-Ackah Unveils Preview

Oscar Heman-Ackah, a media executive from Ghana and Nigeria, has unveiled a five-minute preview of his political musical drama film, Finding Messiah, and Nollywood lovers have lauded it greatly already.

The movie takes place in the made-up country of Zambay, which appears to be experiencing chaotic political turmoil that is eerily reminiscent based on the teaser that was posted on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

In it, a gang of demonstrators battle a powerful political elite that is out to oppress the very people it is supposed to defend. Once more, it has a very familiar feel to it, as if it were acknowledging happenings in the real world of its main audience.

Heman-Ackah’s first feature film has received praise for the teaser, which is noteworthy for its length and for the size of its set and soundtrack, as well as for being a crowd-pleaser.

Breakout Alongside Nollywood veterans Pete Edochie, Keppy Ekpeyong, Segun Arinze, Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett, Ngozi Ezeonu, Ejike Asiegbu, and Alex Usifo—who plays Zambay’s despotic figure—Bucci Franklin, the actor behind Blessing, also stars in the film Finding Messiah. Majid Michael, Sunshine Rosman, Daddy Showkey, and Lilian Afegbai are other members of the cast.

Heman-Ackah stated he had to meticulously construct the movie’s set when he posted the teaser on Instagram.

“Bringing the lovely but imaginary world of Zambay to life was one of the biggest challenges I had while making this movie. It meant that in order to make things as realistic as possible, I had to personalize everything,” he remarked.

The 43-year-old is listed as the executive producer, production designer, writer, and director of the movie. In addition, he composed the soundtrack, which is currently one of the project’s highlights.

Heman-Ackah expressed his gratitude on Instagram for his wife Kemi Adetiba’s support, the critically acclaimed filmmaker of King of Boys, a political thriller.

“My hubby truly is a genius! And everyone who is acquainted with him is aware of this as well,” Adetiba added on her Instagram.

The main filming for Finding Messiah was completed in January, however the movie’s release date is still unknown.

Nollywood is about to experience something like never before and we are here for all the excitement.
