FIFA WWC: Spain crushes Switzerland to reach the Quarterfinals
The first game of the round of 16 was played this morning at Eden Park, Auckland. Spain through a 5-1 emphatic victory over Switzerland booked their spot in the last 8.
Spain took an early lead via Bonmati’s early goal. Switzerland responded and leveled the game to 1-1 via an own goal from Cedina. Still in the first half, Spain took the lead scoring in the 17th, 35th, 45th, and 70th minutes respectively recording the biggest victory we could see in the knockout round.
Spain was totally in control of the game taking 70% possession against their opponent who managed 30. They produced 25 goal attempts against Switzerland who had just two.
