Fidelity Bank Emerges as Export Finance Bank of the Year

The confirmation of Fidelity Bank Plc’s dominance in the export market has come from the bank’s win of the Export Finance Bank of the Year title at the Business Day and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards 2023.

The honor was given to the bank during a dinner event that took place in Lagos over the
weekend.

The BAFI Awards serve as the gold standard for establishments operating in the Nigerian
financial services industry. The awards, which are in their tenth year, honor and celebrate
companies that excel in providing financial services in Nigeria, according to a statement from
the award’s organizers, BusinessDay Media Limited.

“We are grateful for this recognition and dedicate the award to our customers who rely on us
to provide the right support for operating effectively in the global non-oil export market
space,” MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank Plc, Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, stated in response to
receiving the award.

As a bank, we’re still dedicated to fostering personal development, encouraging corporate success, and fostering the expansion of economies. Recall that the bank recently held the Fidelity International Trade and Creative Connect (FITCC)—a non-oil exports expo—in Houston, Texas, in the United States of America.

Analysts in the export industry have deemed the bank’s $40 million pre-export agreement for cocoa with AFREXIM Bank and JohnVents Industries, which was inked during the two-day event, a historic development.

More than 160 US and Nigerian companies exhibited at FITCC Houston, and panel discussions and discussions on how to expand the number of Nigerian companies exporting to the US market were held by participants. October 25, 2023, was declared FITCC Day in Houston, Texas, by Mayor Sylvester Turner in honor of the bank’s dedication to promoting bilateral commerce and economic development between Nigeria and the USA through its FITCC project.

One of the top banks in Nigeria, Fidelity Bank serves more than eight million clients through its 251 business locations in Nigeria and the UK, as well as digital banking platforms. It is a fully functional commercial bank.
The bank has won numerous national and international accolades, including the Global Banking and Finance Awards’ Best Payment Solution Provider Nigeria 2023 and Best SME Bank Nigeria 2022, the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2023’s Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria, and the Euromoney Global Private Banking Awards' Best Domestic Private Bank in Nigeria 2023.
