FG to Deliver Thousands of Housing Units Across Nigeria by December

The Federal Government says it will deliver and commission thousands of housing units across Abuja, Lagos and other parts of the country between August and December.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Darma, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja during the groundbreaking ceremony of a 250-unit Renewed Hope Civil Servants Estate.

Darma said the ministry would deliver 122 rent-to-own housing units to beneficiaries before the end of August, followed by additional projects in September, October and December.

According to the minister, the planned projects include 252 housing units in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, 300 units in Abuja, 2,800 units in Karsana, Abuja, as well as 2,000 and 1,500 units at other locations.

He added that another 2,129 housing units were scheduled for delivery in December.

“Before the end of this month, we will do another ceremony. We will deliver 122 rent-to-own houses to the beneficiaries before the end of this month.

“In September, it will be a rundown of activities delivering houses to Nigerians. We will deliver 252 in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. Another 300 units will be delivered in Abuja.

In October, we will deliver 2,800 units of housing in Karsana, Abuja,” he said.

Darma also disclosed plans to deliver another 1,500 housing units in September and 2,129 units in December.

The minister said the ministry would shift its focus from making promises to executing and commissioning projects between now and the end of the administration in May 2027.

He assured Nigerians that the ministry would fulfill the housing mandate of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.

From today to the end of this year and the end of this government in May 2027, everything that you will see will now be action, action, and action.

“Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, we are going to deliver on the mandate that Mr President assigned to us,” he said.
