FG Extends Deadline for $10 billion Diaspora Fund Application to May 13

The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment has extended the deadline for companies interested in managing the $10 billion Diaspora Fund which was originally set for May 6 to May 13, 2024.
This announcement came directly from the Minister, Doris Uzoka-Anite, in a circular issued on a Thursday in Abuja.
In her communication, Minister Uzoka-Anite emphasized the rationale behind this extension, highlighting the aim to give stakeholders more time to properly prepare their applications in accordance with the fund’s guidelines.
This move is intended to ensure that interested parties have adequate time to craft thorough and competitive submissions.
Prospective applicants are urged to utilize this extended timeframe effectively, taking advantage of the opportunity to fine-tune their proposals and ensure they align closely with the outlined criteria.
Specifically, the Ministry is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Fund Managers interested in spearheading the development and establishment of a Multisectoral, multilateral private sector-led investment fund.
The Ministry’s encouragement for applicants to make the most of this additional time underscores the importance of submitting comprehensive and competitive proposals.
Furthermore, the Ministry is open to inquiries and requests for additional information during standard office hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
By extending the deadline, the Ministry aims to facilitate a more inclusive and thorough application process, ultimately selecting the most qualified candidate to manage the substantial Diaspora Fund.
