FG Delivers Housing Rewards to Super Eagles After AFCON 2023 Silver Finish

Members of Nigeria’s Super Eagles have received the long awaited housing and land rewards promised by President Bola Tinubu following their impressive run at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.

The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that certificates for the houses and plots of land were formally presented to the players at their camp in Fez, Morocco. The presentation comes months after the team secured a second place finish at the AFCON finals, where they lost narrowly to the host nation.

President Tinubu had earlier honoured the squad at the Presidential Villa, conferring national awards on each member in recognition of their performance and the pride they brought to the country. The fulfilment of the housing pledge marks a key follow through on that commitment by the federal government.

The News Chronicle understands that the gesture has boosted morale within the team as preparations intensify for upcoming continental fixtures, with players viewing the move as a strong signal of institutional support for national sports achievements.

Attention now shifts back to the pitch as the Super Eagles begin their next AFCON campaign with a group opener against Tanzania, followed by matches against Tunisia and Uganda later in the tournament. In addition to the housing rewards, the squad and technical officials also received specially branded wristwatches through a partnership involving the NFF, further reinforcing backing for their renewed title push.
