It was reported that he had recently traveled to his Umuoboama village to attend the burial of a relative who lost his life in the Northeast while serving in the military.

According to witnesses, a group of over six armed individuals, dressed in military and police uniforms, stormed Obi’s residence around 10 p.m.

They forcibly entered the house, wielding machetes and axes, and unleashed a brutal attack on him.

Reports indicated that Obi had been mutilated, rendering his remains unrecognizable.
