The Presidency has urged the Kaduna State government to provide robust moral support to the school feeding program to ensure its success in the North West state.Â
This call was made during a meeting between the Senior Special Assistant to the President on School Feeding, Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, and Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, along with other top state officials in Kaduna, on Friday.
During the meeting, Dr. Adeniji emphasized the importance of state-level support for the school feeding program.
She noted that such support is crucial for the program’s sustainability and effectiveness in improving the educational outcomes and nutritional status of children in the region.
The meeting was attended by notable state officials, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Liman, and the Executive Chairman of the State Inland Revenue Services (KADIRS), Mr. Jerry Adam.
Dr. Adeniji was in Kaduna to launch the first phase of the Value for Money (VFM) initiative, which aims to ensure that the school feeding program delivers maximum impact for schoolchildren and provides a high return on investment for the government.
This visit marked the second stage of the nationwide VFM study, highlighting the Presidency’s commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation for the benefit of every child in Kaduna.
The VFM Research Program began in Osun State in May 2024. The project aims to evaluate and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the school feeding program, ensuring that it meets its objectives of improving children’s health and educational outcomes.
During her visit, Dr. Adeniji expressed that her engagement with Kaduna State officials was a collaborative effort to advance educational initiatives and ensure the sustainable progress of the school feeding program across the state.
She stated, “Together, we are working towards a future where every child has access to quality education and nutritional support.”
