Federal Government Approves Repair of Gamboru Bridge in Borno State for 3.2 Billion Naira

—

The Federal Government on Monday approved Messrs BDT International Limited to carry out the repair works on the Gamboru Bridge, which is situated along the Gamboru-Ngala-Kala, Balge Road in Borno State.

The bridge, a critical piece of infrastructure in the region, has long needed restoration due to wear and tear, as well as damage from insurgency-related activities.

The total cost of the repair project has been pegged at 3.2 billion naira, reflecting the significant scope of work required to restore the bridge to a fully operational state.

The restoration will involve extensive structural rehabilitation, ensuring the bridge can once again serve as a vital link for transportation, trade, and general connectivity in the northeastern region.

BDT International Limited, the contractor responsible for the project, has been tasked with completing the repairs within a timeline of 24 months.

Once completed, the project is expected to greatly improve access between Gamboru and other key areas in Borno State, boosting economic activity and easing the movement of people and goods.

This initiative is part of the Federal Government’s broader commitment to rehabilitating key infrastructure across Nigeria, particularly in regions that have faced significant disruptions due to conflict and insecurity.

By addressing critical infrastructural needs, the government aims to promote stability, economic development, and better quality of life for the affected communities.
