The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the tragic murder of a well-known crossdresser, popularly known as “Abuja Area Mama.”
The body of the deceased was discovered on August 8, 2024, along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, on Tuesday, Josephine Adeh, it was revealed that preliminary investigations have identified the deceased as 33-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict.
The victim was originally from Afikpo North Local Government Area in Ebonyi State. Police reports further confirmed that Benedict had been residing in the Dapé area of Karmo in Abuja prior to the tragic event.
Authorities have also reached out to Benedict’s family, who are now cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
According to the police, all efforts are being made to piece together the events leading to the victim’s death and bring those responsible to justice.
The FCT Police Command reassured the public that they are working tirelessly to uncover the circumstances surrounding this gruesome incident.
