FC Bayern Munich has reported that it will be without its German winger, Serge Gnabry, as he sustained a muscle strain injury during their 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final last night.
“FC Bayern must do without Serge Gnabry for the time being. The winger suffered a muscle strain in his left hamstring in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, as confirmed by a scan conducted by the FC Bayern medical department.”
Serge scored Bayern Munich’s equalizer just moments before Bukayo Saka initiated Arsenal’s early lead. The 28-year-old, feeling discomfort in his muscles, was substituted in the 70th minute for Portuguese forward Raphaël Guerreiro.
Bayern Munich, whose chances of defending the Bundesliga title are uncertain, will have less focus on the league matches while they hope for Gnabry’s early return to action.
