Fayose Reacts as Obi’s NDC Momentum Sparks Massive Membership Claims

A fresh wave of political commentary has emerged following claims of a rapid surge in membership for the National Democratic Coalition, with social commentator Isaac Fayose linking the development to Peter Obi’s growing political influence.

Fayose claimed in a popular social media video that the movement around Obi is fueling an unprecedented surge in party registration numbers.

While also asserting major membership losses for older parties, he said that millions of Nigerians had enrolled in the days, therefore positioning the NDC as one of the fastest-growing political platforms on the continent.

The allegations, however, have not been independently confirmed, and there has been no official statement from the parties mentioned regarding the scope of the changes.

The News Chronicle reports that the narrative of Obi’s political appeal continues to grow, especially among younger voters and metropolitan supporters, many of whom are seeking alternatives outside the established party system. Ahead of the upcoming election cycles, this pattern seems to be guiding online discussions and influencing grassroots political activity.

Political analysts assert that although such numbers should be viewed cautiously, the general trend is unequivocal. The political terrain of Nigeria might be changing, with digital mobilization, perceptions, and public opinion becoming more important in determining party strength.

As reactions continue to trail the video, attention is now turning to whether this momentum can translate into structured political gains beyond online enthusiasm.
