Isaac Fayose, a renowned social commentator, in his latest Facebook post, has sparked fresh political debate on the movement of Peter Obi across various political parties.
In his post on his personal account, he defended Peter Obi and insisted that the move is motivated by national interest rather than personal ambition.
Speaking in the viral video, Fayose drew parallels between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, stating that the two switched parties because of personal ambition rather than having the interests of the masses at heart.
However, he categorically stated that, although the two’s actions are politically driven, Peter Obi’s choices largely reflect a broader goal of rebuilding Nigeria, as he has always stated, hence his rejection of political money and the delegation of power.
He also added that the path of the former governor of Anambra State is less about party labels and more about principles, noting that Obi has vehemently refused to compromise his values by engaging in vote-buying or even backdoor negotiations.
The News Chronicle reports that the social media commentator highlighted the massive grassroots support of Obi, saying that the Obidient movement is well behind their principal and is issue-driven. He also added that many of his supporters have vowed to follow him to any platform he moves to as long as he is on the ballot in the forthcoming election.
Fayose’s remarks coincide with fresh debates on political realignment in preparation for 2027, with experts observing that Obi’s impact continues to reshape voter engagement outside conventional party systems.
