FARA’s Executive Director Is Agumya, Not Yemi

The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) has brought to our attention an article we published online titled “Despite Misinformation, Biotech Is Weathering Obstacles.”
They described it as a “nice article” but also mentioned that Dr. Yemi, who we mentioned in the article, was their previous Executive Director, whose tenure ended in July 2023.
The email directive from a FARA official stated that the current Executive Director is Dr. Aggrey Agumya (X – @aggreyagumya).

The email read, “This is to thank you for the nice article titled “Despite Misinformation, Biotech Is Weathering Obstacles”, which mentions the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and our immediate past Executive Director and to ask that you make some quick corrections.

“The tenure of Dr. Yemi ended in July 2023, and since the story was published on September 30, you need to state that he is a Former Executive Director. The current Executive Director is Dr Aggrey Agumya (X – @aggreyagumya).”

We apologize for any inconvenience that our mix-up may have caused to FARA. Furthermore, we appreciate their positive feedback on our article.
We would like to extend our warm regards to FARA and assure them that our publication did not aim to create any dissatisfaction among their members.
