EXCLUSIVE: Three soldiers wounded in IED blast while on patrol in Damboa, Borno

Troops from Operation Hadin Kai’s patrol squad encountered a dangerous situation while traveling from Sabon Gari to Damboa Local Government Areas of Borno State.

They came across an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by ISWAP militants. This incident occurred around 10:39 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, approximately 8 kilometers from Wajiroko and 29 kilometers from Damboa in Borno state.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but three soldiers sustained injuries, and two others experienced trauma as a result of the explosion.

The injured soldiers were promptly transported to the Military Hospital in Maiduguri to receive the necessary medical care.

The soldiers were on their routine patrol when they encountered the IED, which underscores the ongoing risks faced by military personnel in the region.

Operations like Operation Hadin Kai play a crucial role in maintaining security and combating insurgency in Nigeria’s northeastern region.

Similarly During the late hours of Tuesday, specifically between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Wednesday, the residents of Maiduguri were startled by the unsettling noise of gunfire and explosions echoing across various sections of the city.

The sounds of guns being fired and bombs detonating reverberated through the streets, causing fear and anxiety among the Residents.

This alarming occurrence persisted for several hours, disrupting the usual peace and tranquility of the night.

The people of Maiduguri found themselves gripped by a sense of unease and uncertainty as they attempted to comprehend the source and nature of the disturbance unfolding around them.
