Excavators and Bulldozers Head Towards Nasarawa Palace of Deposed Emir of Kano

Excavators and bulldozers have been seen heading towards the Nasarawa Palace, the residence of the deposed 15th Emir of Kano State, Aminu Ado Bayero.

This comes after security operatives blocked all entrances to the Nasarawa mini Palace on Friday to prevent unauthorized access ahead of its scheduled demolition.
Security forces reportedly took this action to prevent miscreants from interfering with the demolition process.
The Kano State government, led by Governor Abba Yusuf, had earlier instructed the police to remove Emir Aminu Ado Bayero from the Nasarawa Palace.
The government announced that the palace will be demolished for reconstruction and renovation purposes.
Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi, accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Baffa Bichi, issued the order during a press briefing at the government house on Thursday.
Dederi stated that Bayero is trespassing on government property, and the State Commissioner of Police has been directed to remove him.
The Commissioner also emphasized that Muhammadu Sanusi II remains the 16th Emir of Kano.
He urged the people of Kano to remain calm following a recent court order that, according to him, validated the state government’s dissolution of the five emirates.
