Ex-Major General Haruna Gololo Arrested in Abuja, Directive Linked to Akpabio

Major General Haruna Garba Gololo, popularly known as Garus Gololo, was reportedly arrested in Abuja by officers of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) and the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC).
According to a statement issued by Abubakar Kabir Jumare, Special Assistant on Special Duties and Humanitarian Services to Gololo, the arrest took place at about 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Grand Square Supermarket in Abuja.
Jumare alleged that the operation was carried out under the directive of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
“Today, I wish to inform the public that officers of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) and the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC) reportedly arrested Major General Haruna Garba Gololo, the famous Garus Gololo, yesterday at about 6:00 PM at Grand Square Supermarket in Abuja, under the directive of Senate President Godswill Akpabio,” the statement read.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to officially confirm the circumstances surrounding the alleged arrest, while details of the allegations against Gololo remain unclear. Efforts to obtain reactions from the police and other relevant agencies were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
