The immediate past Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nkem Okeke, on Sunday said what Anambra is witnessing under Governor Chukwuma Soludo is a bold and strategic transformation of the state’s physical and social infrastructure.
Dr. Okeke gave the commendation during an inspection tour of key government projects, led by the Chief Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye.
The tour covered major facilities, including the Country Club, Solution Funcity, and the Light House in Awka.
Okeke was deputy governor in Anambra state between 2014 and 2022, under the then Governor Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
He later decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2022, to support the election of the then candidate of the party, Senator Andy Uba, against the candidacy of Governor Soludo in 2021.
But, after inspecting the projects, Okeke described the projects as clear evidence of purposeful leadership, noting that the developments reflect a shift toward world-class standards in social and recreational infrastructure.
According to him, the facilities at Solution Funcity and the Country Club are not merely leisure centres but important platforms for social integration, economic activity, and youth development.
“These projects provide modern amenities and constructive engagement opportunities for young people, while also enhancing the overall image of the state,” Okeke observed.
The visit ended at the Light House, Awka, where he observed what he termed a seamless spread of infrastructure across both urban and rural areas of Anambra State.
He commended the Soludo administration for its commitment to the Prosperous Homeland vision, adding that investments in road networks, public utilities, and recreational facilities are laying a solid foundation for a modern and progressive Anambra.
