Euros 2024

Georgia’s dream of making history in the 2024 Euros came to an end last night with a 4-1 defeat against Spain in the round of 16.

Georgia took an early lead in the 18th minute through a horrible own goal by Real Sociedad’s defender Robin Le Normand. Spain responded with an equalizer from Rodri in the 39th minute, ending the first half at 1-1.

Six minutes into the second half, PSG midfielder Fabian Ruiz scored to give Spain the lead. Georgia then conceded two more goals, scored by Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, ending the match at 4-1 in favor of Spain.

Spain, having won all their games in the tournament so far, will face host nation Germany in the quarterfinals on July 5, 2024, as both nations compete for a spot in the last four.
