Eric Chelle Seeks $130k Monthly Deal and Full Control in Super Eagles Contract Talks

—

Fresh details have emerged over contract talks between Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle and the Nigeria Football Federation, with the Franco-Malian tactician outlining a sweeping list of conditions tied to his proposed deal.

At the centre of the proposal is a monthly salary of 130000 dollars, a figure said to cover his technical crew and personal assistant. Beyond pay, Chelle is seeking a residence in a secure location with guaranteed round-the-clock electricity, which he considers essential for match analysis, virtual meetings, and player monitoring.

He is also requesting an official SUV with a chauffeur and security, as well as a fully equipped office space with internet access and presentation facilities. The proposal further calls for structured contracts for his backroom staff, timely salary payments, and inclusion of his assistant in bonus arrangements.

On the sporting front, Chelle wants operational independence, including final authority over player invitations and the freedom to recommend friendly match opponents. He is also requesting provisions for travel across Europe and within Nigeria to scout both foreign-based and domestic league players for the senior team and age-grade sides.

The News Chronicle gathered that the demands have sparked internal conversations within the federation, as officials weigh the financial and administrative implications of the package against the urgency of repositioning the national team for upcoming competitions.

The talks remain ongoing, with no official confirmation yet on whether the federation will accept the full terms.
