EPL: City Begins Title Defense Following Transcendent Victory Over Chelsea

Manchester City began their title defense with a pristine 2-0 victory over Chelsea’s multi-billion squad at Stamford Bridge this evening.

First Half: The first half was played in an intense atmosphere as both sides looked dangerous, with insignificant differences in ball possession.

Erling Haaland scored the first goal of the match in the 22nd minute as City held onto their lead at the end of the first 45 minutes.

Second Half: Despite Chelsea appearing well-reshaped coming into the second half, they were vulnerable in their box.

Former Chelsea player Mateo Kovačić struck Manchester City’s second goal in the 83rd minute, a result the Cityzens held onto until the end of the regular 90 minutes.

Chelsea made nine acquisitions this summer, spending around €189 million, with plans to add more.
