EPL: Chelsea and Arsenal Secure Wins, While Man City Held to a Draw

The English Premier League (EPL) matchday 6 saw some of the league’s top teams in action. Arsenal and Chelsea secured impressive victories, both winning by a 4-2 margin, while Newcastle frustrated Manchester City with a draw.

Arsenal bounced back this weekend after being denied a win at the Etihad Stadium last week, following John Stones’ late equalizer that resulted in a 1-1 draw. Tonight, Arsenal’s goals came from Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz, and an own goal by Wilfred Ndidi, which helped them overcome their opponents in a 4-2 thriller. Leicester City’s James Justin scored twice, but it wasn’t enough to salvage any points for the Foxes.

Chelsea seem to have rediscovered their form, maintaining an unbeaten streak in their last six games since losing their EPL opener to defending champions Manchester City. Tonight, Cole Palmer stole the show with four goals, leading Chelsea to a 4-2 win over Brighton, who suffered their first defeat of the season. Brighton tried to fight back in the first half, closing the half at 3-2 in favor of the Blues.

Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle. Despite taking an early lead in the first half, City conceded a penalty, which was converted by Anthony Gordon in the 58th minute.

In other fixtures, Brentford were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham, Fulham secured an important 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest, and Everton defeated Crystal Palace to move away from the relegation zone.

As it stands, Manchester City retain its top spot, followed by Arsenal in second place, and Chelsea in third. Liverpool will go top of the table with a win against Wolves.
