Enugu Airport reopening: Buhari has done well for Ndigbo- Obiano

—

Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano says the South East region has enjoyed more infrastructural development under President Muhammadu Buhari than in any other government

The governor who was speaking in Enugu on Sunday, during the reopening of the reconstructed Akanu Ibiam international airport, Enugu, expressed appreciation to President Buhari for the successful reconstruction and re-opening of the airport.
According to him, President Buhari is committed to infrastructure development across the country and the landmark projects being executed in the South East by the Federal Government are worth commending.
“Ndigbo need to support the Federal Government’s efforts to reposition the Country. There is no gainsaying that the South East has witnessed massive infrastructural development under President Buhari.
“I strongly believe that President Buhari is committed to sustaining investments in critical infrastructure in the South East and with the successful completion of the rehabilitation and upgrading of Akanu Ibiam International airport, Enugu, the people of the South-East should appreciate his efforts at making life meaningful for people of the region,” Obiano said.
The Governor said he was pleased that contrary to insinuations that the airport reconstruction project would be abandoned, the reverse has been the case even as he revealed that its opening is apt.
“Having gone round the facility, with improved facilities at the airport, the capacity of the airport has been strengthened. Upon full resumption of local and international flights, large influx of passengers and commercial activities will be witnessed here, which is a plus to the region’s IGR,” he said.
While expressing optimism that all ongoing projects in the region will be completed in record time, Governor Obiano stressed that Anambra state has enjoyed cordial relationship with the federal government.
