#EndBadGovernance Protest: Governor Idris Warns Against Importing Troublemakers into Kebbi State

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi has issued a strong warning to those attempting to bring troublemakers into Kebbi State to cause chaos.

In a broadcast to the state’s people on Friday, reacting to recent protests, Idris expressed concern over the protests that had taken place in some local government areas, which allegedly led to the destruction of public property.

The governor stated, “We have information that some individuals are trying to bring troublemakers from other areas into Kebbi to cause problems, especially in Birnin Kebbi, Argungu, Jega, Yauri, and Zuru town. The people of Kebbi are known for respecting the law and do not typically engage in protests, but some are trying to force this behavior for their personal gain.”

Idris emphasized that as a responsible government, they would not allow those with bad intentions to use the protests for vandalizing public utilities, shops, and other properties. He mentioned that there was information about plans to target the waterboard, which serves the public, questioning the motives behind such actions.

“This clearly shows that some bad elements want to disrupt the peace that Kebbi people are enjoying,” the governor lamented.

Idris appealed to the protesters to reconsider and maintain peace for the progress of Kebbi. He pointed out that destroying public utilities and shops would ultimately harm the people of Kebbi.

The governor assured that his government was working hard to address the concerns of the people and urged the protest organizers to end the protests. He warned that while the beginning of a protest might be known, its end could be unpredictable and harmful.

He also revealed that there was credible information that the protesters planned to destroy solar street lights, questioning the benefit of such actions.

In conclusion, Governor Idris urged everyone to work together to maintain peace in Kebbi State and avoid actions that would harm the community. He reassured the people that the government is committed to addressing their concerns and improving their well-being.
