One of the #endbadgovernance protesters identified as Benjamin Chijioke has received a donation of N1.8m naira from well-meaning Nigerians to help actualize his child’s dream of becoming a programmer.
An X user, Morris Monye who posted the protester’s outcry on X while calling for a crowdfunding, announced that a total of N1.8m has been raised for Mr Chijioke.
The protester who was reported to have ridden on his bike from the Mile 2 area of Lagos state to Ojota to join his fellow protesters, had earlier vented his frustrations after being caught by a Channels Television reporter covering the mass demonstration in the state.
He lamented; “I will rather die on the street than let the dreams of my child go to waste. I can’t afford money for data to enable him achieve his dreams of becoming a programmer. I can give my child to the Nigerian government”.
Recall that the #endbadgovernance protest slated for August 1st-10th which began yesterday 1st August witnessed a large turnout of protesters occupying major cities across various states of the federation calling for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to put an end to the anti-people policies among other demands.
