The Nigerian woman residing in Canada, identified as Amaka Sunnberger, is currently being probed by the Toronto Police Service for threatening to poison Nigerians of Yoruba and Benin descent.Â
Recall that the alarming threat issued by the woman sparked outrage and prompted swift action from both Nigerian and Canadian authorities.
A representative of the Toronto Police Service, Sergeant Bassey Osagie confirmed that the matter is being taken seriously. “This incident has been reported to the Toronto Police Service and is currently under investigation,” Osagie added.
The situation escalated after the Nigerian House of Representatives, along with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), formally petitioned the Canadian authorities.
Part of their demands is a thorough investigation and the prosecution of Sunnberger for her inflammatory remarks, which have caused widespread concern within the Nigerian community both in Canada and abroad.
