The Immediate past minority leader of House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu who attended the 2024 Bi-Annual National Convention of the Anioma Association in USA Houston has commended the Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori over his commitment to healthcare in Delta State.
In a keynote address , Elumelu said the theme of the 2024 Bi-Annual National Convention of the Anioma Association in USA “Tackling Healthcare Insecurity in Anioma Communities of Delta State, Nigeria” resonated deeply with him.
Elumelu while greeting the audience with the familiar “Anioma Nu-Ofu Obi bu Ike anyi” (Anioma, our collective heritage is our strength) expressed his gratitude to the organizers for the honor of addressing the gathering.
He praised the Anioma Association USA Inc. for their remarkable work in scholarships, education, community building, healthcare interventions, and more.
He emphasized the importance of unity and collective purpose in achieving a prosperous Anioma.
He highlighted the challenges facing healthcare in Nigeria, including inadequate infrastructure, a shortage of healthcare professionals, and prevalent diseases.
Hon. Elumelu stressed the need for concerted efforts to address these issues.
As a political leader, he shared his efforts to improve healthcare and wellbeing in Anioma, including sponsoring bills and motions, executing infrastructural projects, and attracting federal government projects.
He expressed his pride in the recent opening of the Federal School of Nursing in Onicha-Uku.
Hon. Elumelu commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to healthcare and urged the convention to consolidate interventions in areas of need.
He encouraged the audience to join him in making a difference, emphasizing that together, they could achieve the Anioma of their dreams.
The audience applauded as Hon. Elumelu concluded his keynote address, inspiring the gathering to work collectively towards a brighter future for Anioma.
The Anioma Association in USA Houston during the event honored Elumelu with an Honor award in recognition of his outstanding dedication as a testament of a true son of the Anioma people in the 9th House of Representation.
