Economic Hardship: Adeboye Seeks God’s Intervention Amid Violent Protest In Minna

Renown Christian cleric and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has decried the increasing Naira to Dollar exchange rate, appealing to Nigerians to call on God as a lot of people are going through hardship.

Pastor Adeboye stated this while speaking during the February Thanksgiving Service tagged: ‘Let the Wind Blow’, which took place at the Throne of Grace Parish, RCCG Headquarters, in Ebute Meta, Lagos on Sunday, February 4, 2024

While saying that God has foreseen the worsening economic challenges currently being faced by Nigerians from the beginning of the year, the man of God charged the people to remember that things are going to get worse before they get better.

He added that the value of the naira to the dollar by January 1, cannot be compared to its current value.

“We have to pray with all our strength because when you say things would get worse before they get better. We don’t know how worse or how farther before they can get better. With all your heart, cry to God and say please have mercy on us, intervene quickly.

“It does not matter how much they are changing the dollar, they are secured where they are. The Governor does not need to know the cost of petrol; he doesn’t want to know how much petrol is in his tank. When he wants to go out, he comes out and enters his car. He doesn’t queue at the petrol station. He added.

Pastor Adeboye, noted that it was none of the President’s business to know how much a loaf of bread is sold as it would always get to his (president) table when he wants to eat.

He emphasized that it is the suffering masses who can tell the price of commodities in the market because they have to buy them.

While revealing that he is not a Prophet, but a Pastor, Adeboye stated that at the beginning of the year, the Lord said that the wind was going to blow, and the wind was already blowing.

He disclosed that as it is, nothing can be done to stop current economic hardship.

“I have told you that I am not a Prophet, I am a Pastor. At the beginning of the year, the Lord said that the wind was going to blow, and the wind was already blowing. As it is, there is nothing we can do to stop it.”

Meanwhile, residents of Minna, the Niger State capital, have taken to the streets to protest the increasing rise in the cost of food and living across the country.

It was gathered that the protesters, flooded the streets in a mouth-gaping number and barricaded the Minna-Bida Road at the popular Kpakungu roundabout as early as 7 am on Monday 5th February 2024.
