Drama in Katsina United as club suspends technical adviser, Tony Bolus

The management of Nigeria Premier Football League side, Katsina United has asked the technical adviser of the team, Tony Bolus to step aside.

This was contained in a communique released in the early hours of today. The communique which was signed by club Chairman, Alhaji Kabir Mashasha and Secretary, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan stated categorically that the management frowns at the team’s poor performances this season. It reads:

“I am directed to by the management of Katsina United football club to ask you to step aside from your position as the Technical Adviser of the team.”

“The management frowned at your technical ineptitude since the beginning of the ongoing football season which is seriously affecting the performance of our team.”

“Moreover, your role and insubordination that happened after our away match with Abia Warriors FC, where you put the lives of players and officials of the team at security risk, forcing them to travel out of Enugu despite security warnings is not acceptable to the management.”

“The management will set up a special committee to look into all these acts with their findings and report submitted in no distant time.

“You are to step aside from the team pending the report from the special committee.”

The experienced gaffer who only took up this post in August 2023 ahead of the NPFL 2023/2024 season will now be away from the team until the dust settles down. Under the tutelage of Tony Bolus this season, the Changi Boys have racked up three wins, two draws and three loses as they sit 11th on the league table after picking up 11 points from 8 games.
