DJ Casper Loses Battle to Cancer
The Cha Cha Slide’s creator, DJ Casper, has reportedly passed away at the age of 58, according to ABC7Chicago. Someone made a cancer diagnosis in 2016.
With his all-time favorite song, “Cha Cha Slide,” the superstar over the years brought millions of people together. He devised the dance as an aerobic workout for his nephew. It quickly gained momentum and became popular. Later, while on tour with James Brown, he sang the song.
Doctors diagnosed him with kidney and liver cancer in 2016. Doctors advised treatment as the best course of action rather than surgery. He offered advice to anyone in need in one of his final messages regarding his sickness.
“Anybody that’s going through cancer, know that you have cancer and cancer does not have you, so keep on doing the Cha Cha Slide.”
