Dismissed Delta Cops Plead Not Guilty to Murder of Singer OG Million

The police officers dismissed over the alleged extrajudicial killing of 27-year-old upcoming singer, Oghenemine Ogidi, popularly known as OG Million, have pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against them.

The News Chronicle reports that the former officers were arraigned on Tuesday before Justice M. Nduka of the Delta State High Court 4 in Asaba.
OG Million was shot dead on April 26, 2026, after he was intercepted at the Effurun Main Motor Park in Uvwie Local Government Area while attempting to send a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and four rounds of ammunition to a recipient in Sapele.

A video of the incident, which went viral on social media, captured the singer pleading for his life and urging the officers to allow him take them to the friend who allegedly handed him the package. Moments later, one of the officers allegedly shot him at close range. He later died from the gunshot wound.

Standing trial are former Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) Nuhu, popularly known as “Ogbegbe,” Owoloko Daurou Pamo, and Okoh Kelechi, alongside Inspectors Goodluck Kingsley and Omonigho Ahweyevu, all of whom have since been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force.

ASP Nuhu is facing a one-count charge of murder, contrary to Section 319 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. C21, Vol. 1, Laws of Delta State, 2006.
The four other defendants are charged with negligent acts causing harm, an offence punishable under Section 344 of the same law.

All five defendants pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.
Justice Nduka subsequently adjourned the case until July 14, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
