Delta State Initiates Another Round of Palliatives Distribution, Says Egbo

—

Delta State’s Subsidy Palliatives Committee, led by Special Adviser on Transportation, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, has announced plans for a new phase of palliatives distribution to alleviate the economic strain caused by federal government reforms.

Egbo revealed this during an interview on Voice of Delta Radio 97.9FM Asaba’s Orientation Panorama Platform.

Ensuring comprehensive coverage, Egbo emphasized Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s directive to include all communities and prioritize those in genuine need. Despite logistical challenges, particularly in reaching riverine areas, Egbo praised Governor Oborevwori’s unwavering support for the initiative.

To maximize awareness, Egbo outlined plans for extensive publicity through both traditional and social media channels ahead of the distribution. He urged low-income earners and struggling families to prepare for the statewide distribution, underscoring the government’s commitment to easing the burden of subsidy removal.

Trusted stakeholders, including religious institutions, schools, and elected representatives, will oversee and coordinate distribution in all local government areas. Egbo assured continuous support from the state government, with quarterly palliatives distribution planned, alongside assistance for farmers through agricultural resources.

Highlighting Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to Delta State’s socioeconomic welfare, Egbo reiterated the administration’s pledge to fulfill campaign promises. The Committee, chaired by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, is committed to ensuring the palliatives reach the intended recipients across all 25 local government areas.

As state coordinator, Egbo pledged collaboration with local coordinators to ensure equitable distribution and meaningful impact on Delta’s residents.
