The Delta State Police Command has arrested the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, and three others in connection with the death of Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, a Deputy Director in the state Ministry of Secondary Education.
The arrests were made as the police intensified investigations into the circumstances surrounding Adeda’s death.
The Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying five suspects were now in police custody over the case.
The police, however, had yet to disclose the identities of the three other suspects arrested alongside the commissioner as of the time of filing this report.

The Command also declared two persons wanted for questioning in connection with the investigation.
They are Mrs Clementine Ufuoma, Director of Basic and Secondary Education, and Clement Apia, the driver to the Commissioner for Secondary Education.

“The Delta State Police Command, in continuation of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, Deputy Director in the Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education, has taken into custody the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, alongside three other suspects in connection with the case.
“This brings the number of persons currently in Police custody in connection with the investigation to five,” the statement said.
The police said investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the deputy director’s death.
