Delta: Noise Pollution Offenders To Be Sanctioned

Residents in Delta State have been charged to obey the State’s environmental sanitation law as any one who violates it, will face the full wrath of the law.

The State Commissioner for Environment, Mr Jamani Tommy Ejiro gave the warming in Asaba when he led Ministry officials to seal a bar, the 11:59 Lounge a over noise pollution in Asaba.

Mr. Jamani said the bar was sealed following series of complaints from residents over noise pollution. He said the Ministry had invited the owner of the property over the violation of the rules and regulations guiding the operations of such business, the owner ignored the invitation.

The Commissioner, said noise from the musical instruments from the bar had badly affected the health and well-being of residents of the area as complained.

He expressed the state government’s zero tolerance for noise pollution and other forms of environmental pollution in the State.
