Delta Assembly Passes 13th Month Salary Bill for Civil Servants to Boost Welfare

The Delta State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed the 13th Month Salary Bill, 2026, providing for the payment of an additional month’s salary to workers in the state.

The passage followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Establishment, Ethics and Privileges, presented by its Chairman, Edafe Emakpor.

According to reports, the bill provides for the payment of basic salary and fixed monthly allowances, excluding salary arrears, overtime and other payments.

Speaking after the passage, the Speaker of the House, Dennis Guwor, said the legislation demonstrated the lawmakers’ commitment to the welfare and security of residents, particularly workers in the state.
