Defense Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Equip and Train Armed Forces

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, visited the military operations theatre in Katsina on Wednesday to boost troop morale and reaffirm President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to equipping and training the Armed Forces.
A statement by Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations said during his visit to the 213 Forward Operating Base, the Minister acknowledged the significant successes achieved in the fight against insurgency and related crimes. He commended the troops for their sacrifices and commitment, urging them to continue the fight against insurgency and banditry.
The Minister also addressed the recent incident in Abia State, where soldiers were killed, and reassured that the government is determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent such incidents from happening again.
Air Commodore G.I. Jibia, Commanding Air Component, 213 Forward Operation Hadarin Daji, expressed appreciation for the Minister’s visit, stating that it would boost troop morale.
Earlier, the Minister held an interactive discussion with officers and men of the Headquarters of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji, Katsina, to assess their preparedness in responding to insecurity threats in the region.
The Minister also visited the Nigerian Army Medical Center, Katsina, where he sympathized with military personnel injured during combat operations.
