AS Roma has revealed that Daniele De Rossi will continue as the first-team head coach next season and for the foreseeable future.
According to Dan and Ryan Friedkin: “After meeting yesterday afternoon with Daniele De Rossi, we are delighted to announce he will continue as Head Coach of AS Roma after this season and for the foreseeable future.”
On January 16, the club announced De Rossi as José Mourinho’s successor until the end of the season. The club has found delight in his duty, a feat which prompted his contract extension even before the end of the season:
“In his short tenure as Head Coach, the positive impact that his leadership has brought to the entire club has told its story.
Daniele leads with respect and courage, while his strength and deep-rooted belief in the club are truly aligned with Roma’s values, city, and unparalleled fans.
We will continue to work together as hard as we possibly can to deliver a future that AS Roma’s fans deserve.”
Since his appointment with Roma, De Rossi has been responsible for 16 games, with 11 wins, 3 draws, and 2 losses in all tournaments.
Roma is situated in 5th place on the Serie A log table. As things stand, they could still earn a spot for the UEFA Champions League.
