Davido’s Father Considers Lawsuit, Kemi Olunloyo and Anu’s Mother React

The paternity dispute involving Afrobeats singer Davido, a 12-year-old girl named Anuoluwapo, and her mother Ayo Labinjoh has drawn public responses from social media personality Kemi Olunloyo and Davido’s father, billionaire businessman Dr Adedeji Adeleke.

The issue resurfaced in early January 2026 after an Instagram account bearing the child’s name appealed for a new DNA test, citing years of emotional distress. Davido responded on X, stating that several DNA tests had already been conducted and that all results showed he is not the child’s biological father.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Dr Adedeji Adeleke accused Kemi Olunloyo of impersonation, misinformation, and defamation, and said the family was considering legal action.

“For publishing this, we are going to consider suing her. It is getting out of hand,” Adeleke said.

He alleged that Olunloyo had been operating social media accounts in the names of the child and her mother to sustain false claims against his son.

“She has been lying and lying, using an account that does not belong to her, impersonating a child and the child’s mother,” he said.

Adeleke also dismissed Olunloyo’s claim that she had a personal relationship with his late wife, describing it as untrue.

Adeleke stated that multiple DNA tests had been conducted over the years and that all showed Davido is not the child’s biological father.

“The test I asked David to do was not because of the public. I did it for myself. This is science,” he said.

He added that the tests were carried out at the same accredited laboratory that handled DNA testing for Davido’s acknowledged children, including Imade and his late son Ifeanyi.

“Even if it is done 10 times, it will not change. It is like a fingerprint. The DNA profile will never change,” Adeleke said.

He stressed that the family had no reason to reject a child, noting that he has 14 grandchildren, but maintained that science was clear.

“What is one more? Is it that I cannot afford to take care of her? But there is science, and science is clear,” he said.

His final position was that Anuoluwapo is not his granddaughter.

Despite the DNA results, Adeleke disclosed that he had privately supported the child and her family over the years, without Davido’s knowledge.

He said he paid the child’s school fees, sent upkeep money, and offered Ayo Labinjoh admission into Adeleke University, along with a monthly stipend.

“If I can pay the girl’s school fees and send her money, knowing fully well she is not my grandchild, without telling anybody, I would have been glad if she was my granddaughter so I could spoil her like the others,” he said.

Later on January 21, 2026, Kemi Olunloyo released a video responding to Adeleke’s statements. She denied impersonating the child or her mother and said she originally opened Anu’s Instagram account in 2019 but later handed over the password to Ayo Labinjoh.

Olunloyo accused Adeleke of involving her autistic son in the controversy and said she would not tolerate such references.

She claimed that Ayo Labinjoh told her she had sexual relations with Davido and not with multiple men, and that she had communicated directly with the singer. Olunloyo also alleged that Davido used another person’s phone to communicate with Ayo at the time.

She said her involvement was motivated by concern for the child’s welfare, adding that she opened a bank account for Anu and had been saving money for her future, to be accessed when she turns 18.

On January 22, 2026, Ayo Labinjoh reacted via a post on her daughter’s Instagram page. She denied that Kemi Olunloyo currently manages the account, though she confirmed that Olunloyo created it in 2019.

Labinjoh said she was not negotiating child support and stated that Davido himself, not his father, should be addressing the matter.

“I am not Sophia Momodu. Davido should be speaking with us directly,” she wrote.

She also denied ever meeting Dr Adeleke before 2020 for additional DNA testing and issued a warning, stating that if anything happened to her, her mother, or her daughter, the authorities should hold Davido’s father responsible.

Labinjoh further accused her elder sister of secretly contacting the Adeleke family since 2020 and allegedly collecting money without her knowledge.

While Davido and his father continue to rely on DNA evidence to deny paternity, the child’s mother maintains that only one test was conducted in 2014 and has called for a new, independently monitored DNA test.

The dispute remains unresolved publicly, with legal action now being considered by the Adeleke family
