Afrobeats star Davido shared light-hearted updates about his twins and older daughters during a new BBC interview reflecting on his 15-year music career.
Davido said about his two-year-old twins with his wife, Chioma: “My twins are so beautiful, God! Sometimes, me and my wife Chioma look at them and be like, ‘Ahn ahn, we de CREATE.'”
Davido also shared about his older daughters, that they were quickly growing up. “My daughters are already telling me about the boys they are crushing on in school. That’s when I realized I’m officially a full-grown father now,” he said.
P-Square Named as Early Influence
In the same interview, Davido credited P-Square, the duo made up of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, as a major inspiration during his school years. “P-Square inspired me. I used to tell my friends in school about how they were two African artistes who had a song with Snoop Dogg and were friends with Kanye West,” he said.
In a separate clip from the interview, Davido recalled believing early on that African music could reach a global audience, citing P-Square and D’Banj as the artists who shaped that belief while he was still in college.
Separately, TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, addressed speculation about a falling out with Davido after the singer missed his traditional wedding. Peller denied any rift, saying Davido was simply too busy to attend and describing him as someone who “treats me like a son.”
