Davido and Lojay make it to the Billboard Top 100

It’s a sensational feeling for Davido and Lojay!

Nigerian Afrobeats artists Davido and Lojay have achieved a remarkable feat: thanks to their electric participation on Chris Brown’s chart-topping song “Sensational,” which debuted on October 20, they have secured the 96th position on the renowned Billboard Hot 100.

The song’s climb is evidenced by its tremendous success; in the United States, during the tracking week of January 19–25, it accumulated 2.6 million streams and an astounding 15.7 million radio airplay audience impressions.

Afrobeats legend Davido is still making a lasting impression with his new album release. His two releases from 2020 and 2023, “A Better Time” and “Timeless,” respectively, had a big impression on the Billboard 200, peaking at 37 and 170.

The Grammy-nominated musician has an astounding 25 songs on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs list, including tracks that have reached the top of the charts like “Stand Strong,” “Unavailable,” and “Over Dem.” His supremacy is evident even in this area. In addition, his position as a major player in the Afrobeats industry worldwide is cemented by his appearance on the World Digital Song Sales chart, where he has an astounding 27 songs and 18 top 10 entries since 2016.

Heralded as one of Afrobeats’ rising stars, Lojay has paved his own route to success on the Billboard charts. His breakthrough performance on “Monalisa” with Chris Brown during his 2022 debut set the stage for successes like “Arizona” and “Moto,” which shot to remarkable places 44 and 48 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs list in 2023, respectively.

Having released three EPs, including the highly regarded “Gangster Romantic” in March 2023, Lojay keeps demonstrating his variety and growing influence in the music industry.

Working together with well-known musicians like French Montana and Swae Lee on songs like “Wish U Well” highlights Lojay’s versatility and solidifies his status as a rising star in the music industry.
