Davido Alleges Threats By People To Cancel His December Show

Afrobeats superstar Davido has alleged that there are plans in place to cancel his show over economy remarks.

Earlier this week Davido appeared in  the American podcast Big Homies House.

In the podcast, Davido didn’t mince words, warning Americans against relocating to Africa especially Nigeriabecause, according to him, the economy is in “shambles.”

As expected, his comments sparked widespread reactions. Prominent Nigerians, including political figures like Joe Igbokwe and Reno Omokri, publicly criticized the singer, accusing him of tarnishing the nation’s image.

But Davido isn’t one to back down. Responding to the backlash, he took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to fire back.

“Y’all mad ’cause we’re the real ambassadors!” he declared, suggesting that entertainers like him are the true representatives of Nigeria, not politicians or officials.

Things took a more dramatic turn when Davido revealed that some individuals are now threatening to cancel his highly anticipated Lagos concert this December because of his controversial comments.

Addressing the threats, he posted, “Dem say dem go cancel my show ’cause of my interview… loooool I don’t have to perform in Nigeria.”

Love him or hate him, Davido’s fearless approach to speaking his mind continues to keep him at the center of public discourse. Whether the December show goes on or not, one thing’s for sure OBO will always have a show.
