The Chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has filed a petition with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), accusing the Managing Director of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Ahmed Farouk, of corruption.
In the petition submitted on December 16 through his lawyer, Ogwu Onoja (SAN), Dangote urged the ICPC to arrest and investigate Farouk for allegedly living beyond his lawful earnings as a public servant.
He claimed that Farouk spent over $7 million on the education of his four children in Switzerland, without any verifiable source of income to justify the expense.
Dangote further alleged that the funds were paid upfront for several years and accused the NMDPRA boss of abusing his office, diverting public funds for personal use, and engaging in actions that have sparked public outrage and protests.
The petition reportedly includes details of the children, their schools in Switzerland, and the amounts paid, to aid ICPC investigations
